Draupadi

द्रौपदी का चरित्र अनोखा है। पूरी दुनिया के इतिहास में उस जैसी दूसरी कोई स्त्रा् नहीं हुई। महाभारत में द्रौपदी के साथ जितना अन्याय होता दिखता है, उतना अन्याय इस महाकथा में किसी अन्य स्त्रा् के साथ नहीं हुआ। द्रौपदी संपूर्ण नारी थी। वह कार्यकुशल थी और लोकव्यवहार के साथ घर-गृहस्थी में भी पारंगत। लेकिन द्रौपदी जैसी असाधारण नारी के बीच भी एक साधारण नारी छिपी थी, जिसमें प्रेम, ईर्ष्या, डाह जैसी समस्त नारी-सुलभ दुर्बलताएँ मौजूद थीं।
द्रौपदी का अनंत संताप उसकी ताकत थी। संघर्षों में वह हमेशा अकेली रही। पाँच पतियों की पत्नी होकर भी अकेली। प्रतापी राजा द्रुपद की बेटी, धृष्टद्युम्न की बहन, फिर भी अकेली। पर द्रौपदी के तर्क, बुद्धिमत्ता, ज्ञान और पांडित्य के आगे महाभारत के सभी पात्र लाचार नजर आते हैं। जब भी वह सवाल करती है, पूरी सभा निरुत्तर होती है।
महाभारत आज भी उतना ही प्रासंगिक और उपयोगी है, वही समस्याएँ और चुनौतियाँ हमारे सामने हैं। राजसत्ता के भीतर होनेवाला षड्यंत्र हों या राजसत्ता का बेकाबू मद या फिर बिक चुकी शिक्षा व्यवस्था हो या फिर छल-कपट से मारे जाते अभिमन्यु। आज भी द्रौपदियों का अपमान हो रहा है। कर्ण नदी-नाले में रोज बह रहे हैं।
