Tansen (Hindi)
From imitating animal sounds to igniting a fire with his song, Tansen’s genius was unmatched. His voice was so much in demand that wily patrons used it to gain political advantage. Such a talent could win loyal friends and a beautiful wife but it could also make others viciously jealous. In Emperor Akbar’s court, he was a jewel more precious than the diamonds and pearls that were showered on him and he remains to this day a sHining symbol of classical Indian music. Tansen was born into a musical family during the reign of the Mughal king, Akbar (16th century CE). He was accepted as disciple by an eminent maestro of the times. Over his life Tansen is credited with contributing a large number of original compositions to the north- Indian (‘Hindustani’) school of music.

The Big Bang Story
HE BIG BANG STORY – Initially there was nothing, not even time. Then came the sun. Years passed by and the Merearth was born around the sun. And hence came the time, the life, the love and then the death.
The universe before the Big Bang was an endless cluster of inward planets. And like in every universe that ever existed or ever will exist, there was only one unique planet that could host complex life forms in this universe. The Merearth!
Merearth was a huge planet. Big enough to make it impossible for its residents to know how big it is. Big enough to have the sun in its center.
This is a very old story. This is the story of a universe, which existed before the big bang. This is also the story of how that universe came to an end and how ours was born.
But most importantly, this is the story of the man who made it all possible. Ligo!

The Giant and The Dwarf
They make an odd couple. Bhimasena is a giant who weaves delicate baskets for a living. His friend the dwarf, who is a wizard with a bow and arrow, is known as the Little Bowman. Together, their antics take us on a roller-coaster ride of humor and adventure, from their rustic village homes all the way to the court of the King of Varanasi. In true Jataka tradition, their tale also teaches us a valuable lesson about pride and over-confidence.
The Gita
The Gita or The Bhagavad Gita is a philosophical exposition that was presented by Lord Krishna. It is in the form of a dialogue between Krishna and his close friend Arjuna. This conversation took place in the middle of a battlefield with the two sides arrayed for war.
The Gita (Amar Chitra Katha) is a comic book presentation of the work and is at an introductory level appropriate for younger readers. Amar Chitra Katha is a popular comic book series in India, and it mainly presents tales from Indian epics, the Puranas, and classical works.
The Gita (Amar Chitra Katha) presents the profound philosophy of the Bhagawad Gita at a basic level for young readers. The script writers had the help of Sri Chinmayananda and His Holiness Swami Ranganathananda in deciding what to include and how to present it.
The philosophy of the Gita draws on older works like the Upanishads. The Gita provides a crisp and practical philosophy that is very flexible in allowing for many interpretations. As this might cause confusion in young readers, The Gita (Amar Chitra Katha) sticks to a fundamental presentation, allowing the readers to explore further on their own if they are interested.
