मैं नहीं जानता कि मैं कोई शायर हूँ, कवि हूँ या नहीं और इस बात का दावा भी नहीं करना चाहूँगा। मैं तो बस एक आम सोच रखने वाला मामूली इंसान हूँ, जिसे न तो लिखने की सोहबत मिली है, न ही विरासत। इस किताब की रचनाएँ बस मेरी संवेदनाएँ हैं, जो खुद-ब-खुद लफ्ज़ों में तब्दील हो गई हैं। ज़िंदगी के अलग-अलग पहलुओं को मेरी नज़र से देखने की कोशिश मात्र है। ज़िंदगी को जो भी थोड़ा- बहुत देखा, परखा या समझा है, वही लिखकर आपके समक्ष प्रस्तुत किया है। संभवतः वही संवेदनाएँ आपको भी छू जाएँ और आप स्वयं से इसको जोड़ पाएँ।
इस किताब के प्रकाशन से बेहद खुशी है, आ़िखरकार ये मेरी पहली किताब है, पर साथ-ही-साथ एक डर भी सताता है कि क्या यह आपकी उम्मीदों की कसौटी पर खरी उतरेगी, पर इस डर से लड़ने के सिवा और कोई उपाय भी नहीं है। उम्मीद है, आपको मेरी ये किताब और इसकी रचनाएँ पसंद आएँ।
Death in Venice by Thomas Mann;Joachim Neugroschel
I knew of the plot of the book so I was ready to dive into a whirl of emotions. No – this is not how Mann writes. We follow the story of Gustav von Aschenbach, a middle-aged man who is at the height of recognition as an artist and basically on the verge of going downhill. He tries to find inspiration anywhere, and this has to be Venice. From the beginning, I could not sympathise with him. Because the story is told by an unknown third person, I find there is too much distance between myself and the main character. While I can read about his struggle, it felt like reading a report on some unknown soldier in a far-away land. How much more impressive it would have been had I been reading Gustav’s own thoughts and fears and expectations! That was a point I was really astonished with and it triggered a bit of research into Mann’s point of view: It turns out that the story of this book is based on Mann’s own experience. This put everything into a new perspective: did Mann deliberately want to “tone down” the connection between Gustav and himself? Was he afraid that if he had the protagonist talk for himself, he might have revealed more than he was comfortable with? And why should he be uncomfortable?
Death Under the Shadow of Judiciary by Dr. N.M. Ghatate
Rendering punishment by death is one of the forms of punishment that have been employed through the ages. It is one of the severest punishments. Extinguishing a life is not an ordinary incident and the means employed are also out of the ordinary. Right from early ages, the mode of conducting this punishment varied from place to place, country to country and time to time.
This book chronicles the various modes of execution employed from the medieval to the present time, the nature of the case which prompted such a sentence, various cases and the laws behind them.
Although majority of the countries have abolished this kind of punishment, there are still some countries where it is prevalent. Around sixty percent of the population lives in such countries. A study of global trends as a whole and more specifically the United States and India, where this trend still exists, has been conducted in this book. It also critically examines procedural precautions taken in the execution.
The book is replete with maps, statistics, charts and diagrams showing the public opinion on the subject in the world and the impact of international terrorism to national security on the issue of death punishment. Some of the leading cases in the US and India have been examined, especially that of Deena, which is the only case in India where the judiciary deliberated on the method of execution of death by hanging.

दीनदयाल उपाध्याय का जीवन राष्ट्रीय स्वयं सेवक संघ तथा भारतीय जनसंघ के साथ एकात्म था। भारतीय जनसंघ उनकी निर्णायक भूमिका व नेतृत्व के कारण भारतीय राजनीति का सर्वाधिक महत्त्वपूर्ण राजनीतिक दल बना। दीनदयाल उपाध्याय संविधानवाद को धर्मराज्य के रूप में स्वीकार करते थे। वे मिश्रित किंवा धर्मनिरपेक्ष राष्ट्रवाद के आलोचक थे। भारत की एक महान् संस्कृति है। भारत की राष्ट्रीयता एकात्म है, उसकी पहचान मजहबी या राजनीतिक नहीं वरन् भूसांस्कृतिक है। वे संघात्मक शासन के विरोधी तथा विकेंद्रीकृत एकात्मशासन के पक्षधर थे। वे भारत की राजनीतिक व्यवस्था में पाश्चात्य अवधारणाओं के आरोपण के विरुद्ध थे, मौलिकता व भारतीयता के प्रतिपादक थे। वे राजनीति को जीवन का सर्वस्व माननेवाली विचारधारा को गलत मानते थे। दीनदयाल अर्थनीति के प्रखर अध्येता थे। वे उपभोगवादी (पूँजीवाद) एवं सरकारवादी (साम्यवाद) आर्थिक मानव की पाश्चात्य कल्पना को अमानवीय मानते थे। वे उत्पादन में वृद्धि, उपभोग में संयम तथा वितरण में समता के पक्षधर थे। उन्होंने ‘अदेव मातृका कृषि’ व ‘अपर मात्रिक उद्योग’ का विचार प्रस्तुत किया। उनके चिंतन का प्रतिफलन ‘एकात्म मानववाद’ के रूप में हुआ, जो एक संपूर्ण जीवनदर्शन है। यह व्यक्ति एवं समाज को विभक्त नहीं करता; शरीर, मन, बुद्धि एवं आत्मा के घनीभूत सुख की चिंता करता है तथा विराट् पुरुष के धर्म, अर्थ, काम व मोक्ष—इन चतुर्पुरुषार्थों की संकलित साधना करता है। दीनदयाल उपाध्याय एकात्मता व पूरकता के लिए प्रकृति साक्षी रूप में प्रस्तुत करते थे। वे एकांगी अथवा खंड दृष्टि नहीं वरन् समग्रता के दृष्टिपथ के राही थे।

सूर्यकांत बाली का यह उपन्यास वैदिक प्रेमकथा पर आधारित है। वैदिक काल के कथानकों को उपन्यासों के माध्यम से पाठकों तक सशक्त और अत्यंत आकर्षक शैली में पहुँचाने वाले श्री बाली हिंदी ही नहीं, समस्त भारतीय भाषाओं के पहले उपन्यासकार के रूप में उभरकर हमारे सामने आए हैं। प्रस्तुत उपन्यास महत्त्वपूर्ण वैदिक कवि ‘दीर्घतमा’ पर आधारित है। दीर्घतमा जन्मांध थे; लेकिन प्रकृति ने उनके इस अभाव की पूर्ति उन्हें तीव्र प्रतिभाशाली और संवेदनशील कवि बनाकर की थी। जन्म से पूर्व ही पिता और फिर शीघ्र ही माँ का देहांत हो जाने से वे अकेले पड़ गए। दीर्घतमा के काव्य में माँ और पिता की भावुक तलाश का मार्मिक चित्रण मिलता है। अनेक स्त्रियों ने दीर्घतमा से प्रेम किया, जिसका पुराणों में कई बार बड़ी ही लच्छेदार शैली में वर्णन मिल जाता है। पर प्रेयसियों से भरपूर जीवन में भी दीर्घतमा की अपनी माँ की ममता की तलाश बुझी नहीं और उसी तलाश में उनके काव्य का सौंदर्य और गहराई बढ़ने लगी। दुष्यंत-शकुंतला के पुत्र और हस्तिनापुर के चक्रवर्ती सम्राट् भरत के समकालीन दीर्घतमा आंगिरस कुल के थे। बड़े ही पुराने समय से इस कुल के संबंध वैशाली राजवंश से थे। वैशाली राजवंश भारत के पूर्व में राज करता था, जिसने उस नदी के किनारे अपनी राजधानी बनाई, जिसे आज हम गंडक नदी के नाम से जानते हैं।
दीर्घतमा की जीवनगाथा को जिन परंपराओं के जरिए आज तक सँजोकर रखा है, प्रेम और दार्शनिकता से भरपूर उसी जीवनगाथा पर यह उपन्यास आधारित है, जिसमें वैदिक काल के आश्रमों, राजमहलों और सामान्य जीवनशैली को बड़े ही सजीव तरीके से पाठकों के समक्ष रख दिया गया है।

प्रकाश मनु बच्चों के चहेते लेखक हैं, जिनकी कविता, कहानियाँ, नाटक और उपन्यास बच्चे ढूँढ़-ढूँढ़कर पढ़ते हैं और एक बार पढ़ने के बाद उनकी जादुई लेखनी के प्रभाव को कभी भूल नहीं पाते। कभी वे उनके साथ हँसते-खिलखिलाते और चहकते हैं तो कभी किसी मार्मिक प्रसंग की भावना में बहते हुए किसी और ही दुनिया में पहुँच जाते हैं।

Only those who are not familiar with the real face of the Aam Aadmi Party will be surprised or shocked by the above statements made by the now expelled counsellor Tahir Hussain. The Aam Aadmi Party used its network of people associated with mosques and madarsas and relied on leaders such as Tahir Hussain and Amanat Ulla Khan to bag the Muslim votes in Delhi. In return for the votes, it seems that the party gave the license to a specific community to consign north east Delhi to flames.
Now that the chargesheet has been finalised by the Delhi Police about the riots that took place in East Delhi, it will be a fallacy to disassociate the riots that took place in places such as Jafrabad, Maujpur, Babarpur, Gokul Puri, Karawal Nagar, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar from the violence that took place during the anti-CAA protests.
The violence that occurred during the anti-CAA protests in places such as Shaheen Bagh, Jamia Nagar, Seelampur were actually the precursor to a big riot.
The riot that took place in the north-east parts of Delhi during US President Donald Trump’s visit from February 23-26, 2020. For the violence that was orchestrated during these riots, the work of collecting empty bottles, stones and storing these on rooftops of houses had begun on February 4. Many people of the Muslim community had filled petrol in their vehicles so that this fuel could later be used for making petrol bombs. In many Muslim families, pamphlets about such riots were distributed with instructions on how to deal with Hindus. It is not rocket science to understand that the Muslim community was already prepared for the riots that broke out in north-east Delhi. Hindus did not get a chance to get their act together. Slowly the conspiracy behind the riots is unraveling and the lies perpetrated by the Communist ecosystem are falling flat.

लेखक का दावा है कि इस पुस्तक में किए गए खुलासे दिल्ली की राजनीति में खलबली मचाएँगे, पाठकों को बार-बार चौंकाएँगे, विधानसभा के पदाधिकारियों, अधिकारियों एवं विधायकों के एक वर्ग की रातों की नींद उड़ाएँगे, संविधान को ठेंगा दिखाकर सरकार में मंत्री स्तर की अवैध नियुक्तियाँ करनेवालों को अपनी गलती पर शर्म महसूस कराएँगे, अगले चंद दिनों में राजधानी की नीरस खबरों में कुछ चटपटापन लाएँगे तथा महज सूत्रों के हवाले से खबर देनेवाले मीडिया को अपने सूचना-तंत्र को और अधिक पैना बनाने का एहसास कराएँगे।

Renewal of Life by Transmission. The most notable distinction between living and inanimate things is that the former maintain themselves by renewal. A stone when struck resists. If its resistance is greater than the force of the blow struck, it remains outwardly unchanged. Otherwise, it is shattered into smaller bits. Never does the stone attempt to react in such a way that it may maintain itself against the blow, much less so as to render the blow a contributing factor to its own continued action. While the living thing may easily be crushed by superior force, it none the less tries to turn the energies which act upon it into means of its own further existence. If it cannot do so, it does not just split into smaller pieces (at least in the higher forms of life), but loses its identity as a living thing.

माँ दुर्गा शक्ति की देवी हैं। जैसे जीवन में हर एक कार्य को करने के लिए शक्ति की आवश्यकता होती है, उसी प्रकार परमात्मा को सृजन, पालन और संहार के लिए भी शक्ति की आवश्यकता होती है। भगवती दुर्गा ही वह शक्ति हैं, जिनके सहारे परमात्मा सृष्टि का नियमन करता है।
ऐसी माँ दुर्गा की वंदना के लिए हमने ‘दुर्गा सप्तशती’ के कुछ अंशों का संकलन और संपादन किया है। आशा है इससे भक्त लाभान्वित होंगे।
